I initially bought this beautiful fountain pen simply because of its looks, and was more than pleasantly surprised when I received it. I love fountain pens that make you feel like you’ve got something substantial in your hand. And this one does just that, without being clunky or too heavy. It’s very finely crafted and the nib is a dream. It glides smoothly and effortlessly across the paper, making writing a real pleasure. This won’t definitely be my last Conklin. You’ve got a new fan ;-)

Like a day at the beach

This pen looks more Italian than many pens from Italy. It reminds me of the Mediterranean Sea - turquoise water and sandy beaches. The arched clip and the ornamental cap band add to this. In the past Conklin nibs have been a bit hit or miss for me, but this medium one writes extremely smooth and reliable (ink: Dominant Industry “The Moon”). It is more on the broader side, so maybe keep that in mind when you choose your nib size. The only uncertainty is whether the combination of resin and wood is durable or not.
