This's my second Lamy fountain pen. The mechanical design is cool and unique. Appelboom's service is as satisfactory as ever. But the two white lines on the cap don't align with those on the barrel when the nib is twisted back, which is not as meticulous as a German product should be.

What a magnificent pen!
The pen arrived in a beautiful wrapped box from Appleboom pens.
The pen is solid and quite heavy. I like the weight, it doesn't affect my hand writing.
It feels and looks premium.
The twist mechanism is quite a fit of engineering and everybody around me asks about it. my pen has an EF nib. It writes a broader line than my Lamy Safari EF.
The writing experience is great; smooth and steady. I like it even more than my Lamy Safari.
I highly recommend this pen to anyone who wants a functional everyday pen who is interested in a retractable nib that is also a flagship pen by Lamy.

Review Title: Lamy Dialog 3 EF

I particularly favour capless/retractable fountain pens, and in particular the vanishing point is one of my top pens. I had the chance to buy the Lamy Dialog 3 from Applebom pens and I'm happy to say that this pen is fantastic. The capless mechanism on this pen is unique and elegant to use. It's smooth with its retraction and clip transition and is well balanced. The positioning of the clip is perfect for straight writing or sideways writing (which I typically use with my VP).
The EF nib writes like a charm, but is quite different from the more popular Lamy 2000 nib, it feels more smooth and without the detested 'sweet spot' on the 2000.

Overall great purchase and will recommend to anyone.

Review Title: Lamy Dialog 3 Matte Black Fountain Pen

I absolutely admired the "over-engineering" spirit on this pen for a twisting-open seal cap protecting the nib. Definitely it's an innovation of a pen design overall the general fountain pens (even outstand the Pilot Vanishing Point). However, there are two unavoidable flaws within the design. First, the nib writing direction might be getting fingers to go against with the clip. Second, the size of the pen is not an ergonomic writing instrument for note-taking. The nib is quite long but smooth enough not to apply too much pressure in order to write. For casual writing at home and a totally a design-driving purchase, this is a not-second option. If you perceive yourself cramming in a small academic seat writing on a small desk that could barely hold your arms, this may be a great second consideration. Overall, great design as well could compromise with unavoidable flaws. I bought this for the design and will bear its imperfection.

Great pen that puts down a consistent, smooth, wet line in a functional, yet beautiful design. I have large hands, so the Dialog3 is more comfortable for me than the Pilot Vanishing Point. I had some reservations in ordering a pen from an EU store, but Joost Appelboom was helpful and communicative and shipping to the USA only took 3 days. Highly recommended!
