My first fountain pen was the Montblanc 146. As I got my hands on other pens, I realised that my Montblanc's nib had ceased to excite me. The nib still wrote alright, but the feeling was uninteresting. I decided to get it reground into a stub. The entire customisation took some two months. This was longer than expected, but each time I asked Joost for an update he responded quickly. Since getting the pen back, I've been thrilled by it! It's now one of my favourite nibs.
Soon afterwards, I decided to have my Visconti Homo Sapiens worked on as well. Ever since buying it, it has been plagued by a problem—whenever applying unequal pressure on the tines, one would click up a bit. I was unsure as to the cause of this but one thing was for certain: I couldn't fix it. This nib tuning took roughly a month and produced equally satisfactory results.
As you can tell, I'm very happy with this service. Thus, I encourage you to try this service out! You deserve to have nicely writing pens!

This is my second time having the very talented in house nibmeister here put a specialty grind on a nib, this time an M1000 Broad to a Cursive Italic. Once again I am ecstatic at the finished product, the nib retains it's signature bouncy feel and wet writing and gives beautiful line variation. Much obliged!
The work on the pen is always very satisfying at Appelboom. I had a fine Aurora nib grind in cursive italic and the result is incredible with beautiful line variations. I never tire of writing with it.
No matter how much I tried, I never liked the Lamy 2000 EF. The nib was just overacting, ground in a strange rectangular shape that was catching paper (I am lefty and tend rotate the pen back and forth), hard to start and generally fussy. Now has strong character with a hint of the original temperament but writes perfectly and is perfectly smooth.
The vintage Pilot was just too dry, refusing to write vertical lines and drying out immediately, albeit being rather smooth. The pen is now spooky-smooth, gliding like glass on glass on quality paper, almost requiring to re-learn my writing. It is incredible. It does tend to dry if not used for a week or so but that is just feature of the pen construction, not a smallest fault of the job.
Also, it is important to note that since UK leaving EU, Anabelle and Appelboom possess essentialy an european monopoly for us who refuse the fuss of customs and VAT ranson. At least when it relates to proven, company or public name backed nib meisters.

This is my second custom crisp Italic nib grind by Appelboom's exceptionally skilled nibmeister, Anabelle Hiller - this one on a Pelikan Souverän M605 broad nib. Unsurprisingly, my new pen writes with lovely smoothness. There's a little wait when requesting Anabelle's custom grinds, as she is in high demand. It is definitely worth a bit of patience for such excellent work.
