I almost never take the time to sit down and write a product review. But in this case, I feel the need to do it. I've always liked fountain pens and have used them many times throughout my life. I've had several Lamy pens but for me, there's nothing comparable to this model. The retracting mechanism is perfect and it has this satisfying clicking sound when you twist the pen to either retract or extend the nib. The pen is heavy but in a good way. It just feels like a premium product. I will definitely keep buying Lamy pens in the future.
The product is great, but Appelboom's service is even better. Loved the whole purchasing process and nobody can touch the prices they offer.
This is an excellent fountain pen. Its a little heavy but appears to be well balanced. I prefer this version over the Dialog 3 fountain pen. The size is really nice and it writes extremely well.

I've been holding off review since it rolled off the table dropping on the 2nd day of receipt denting the front nib opening; Ouch! and removing any chance of warranty. The twist mechanism IMHO suffers from using friction to maintain nib deployment. On my unit, it is easy untwist the barrel and not be able to retract the nib or getting incomplete closing of the hatch. Gripping the barrel tighter to secure the front section and twisting for the last slight soft click increases chances of the nib retracting properly. Other users have reported Lamy service for resolution which is a plus. My Pilot Fermo (twist end knob, not barrel) and Pilot Capless LS (knock) protracts and retracts securely without this design issue. On paper the pen is heavy but balanced so that the weight is not a hindrance. Despite the woes of my dented, poorly retracting Dialog cc, I have discovered the charms of Lamy gold nibs which led to another Appelboom order on a Safari. All is well!
This is a gorgeous pen. It has a very rich and elegant feel to it when I write. I thought that the pen will be heavy, but it was such a joy to write with this pen. The nib was wet and smooth, making my writing experience a really great one. Huge thanks to the Appelboom team for helping to tune my pen well!
I purchased the Dialog CC with a B-nib. The writing is supersoft and Lamy-like perfect out of the box. The closing-mechanism has evolved and feels very soft and elegant. I chose the dark-blue version - the silk-like surface provides a good grip and looks georgios in combination with the rose-gold accents. The surface is also not sensitive to fingerprints. The build-quality is without flaws. Its the best way to enjoy the world of Lamy Dialog if the clip at the Dialog 3 bothered you while writing.
Very beautiful pen,surface really can anti-slip,the nib is also very smooth.The only problem is that the center fountain pen mechanic system is not very strong,but it is not a big issue.
The Dialogue cc has a nice heavy weight and writes very smooth and wet. The pen has no tapered section which I instinctively miss, but not a problem to adjust. The roll-stop is a great resting point for my finger.
I have the Dialog 3 and now the Dialog CC. In my opinion, the main difference is the length (140mm. vs. 124mm.). It does give different feeling when handling the pen. The Dialog 3 seems too long to keep in the shirt pocket, the CC does not have clip but the length is about right.. Both models give a very smooth writing which is dominant for Lamy fountain pens. The Dialog 3 looks classic whereas Dialog CC looks classy. And because of this sense, I have purchased both and feel satisfied.
Great pen. As with all the Lamy pens I own it writes GREAT out of the box. The nib is very smooth and ink flow is perfect. There is no railroading or skipping, The pen texture is perfect to feel and hold. I purchased the dark blue with a medium nib. Great pocket pen. It is a little smaller than the pervious version of the Dialog 3 and without a pocket clip. Mine came with a leather pouch and makes it a great carry pen for your jacket or pant pocket. But, be careful. The previous version of the Dialog 3 had 2 lines on the barrel and a slight bump when you closed the pen so you could feel it and see it was closed. This only has the slight bump so you have to make sure to feel the bump or it is not closed. I couldn't understand why it was a hard start and the nib dried out (my fault). Then playing with it I felt the bump so I had not been closing it all the way.It writes beautifully right at the start. Great pen but then it's a Lamy, could not expect less. Would definitely recommend.
