I had acquired a new Montblanc 149 B and had a strong desire for getting the nib customized. Not only was the "execution" of my order very pleasant thanks to Joost and his team, but in addition the nib was exactly as I was hoping for.
Without customization by Anabelle the joy of writing would not be as huge as it could be.

I purchased a Pilot Custom Heritage 92 (B) from Appelboom and requested that they grind it to a fine cursive italic (0.4mm on the downstroke) before sending it to me. The nib is so smooth and such a delight to write with that I have hardly used any of my other pens since this one was delivered nearly 4 months ago. All of my directions for the custom grind were followed to the letter. I'm very happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to use this service again.
I sent in my Montblanc 149 for a nib adjustment to make it slightly narrower. The service was quick and easy and I received the pen back with exactly the adjustment I'd hoped. Good work!
I ordered a platinum century 3774 with medium nib from Appelboom. My experience with platinum is their pens often writes too dry for my preference, therefore, I ordered nib tuning and increase the flow. (I used to do it by myself with unsatisfied result.) Your nib tuning is amazing with very pleased wet and smooth nib. Great service!!
I've sent two more pens which had some skipping issues due to my writing angle. The nib specialist honed the nibs. Now my pens are performing reliably.
The return time of these pens was reasonably good taking into account the end of the year holidays.
I made two orders to the nip specialist.
Pelican M101n smoothly reduces nip size.
Montblanc M has a slightly resistive nip size reduction.
Both are completely reduced to one size. Unfortunately, the flow of these two is so good that there is a lot of difference depending on the thickness and paper sent as a sample.
If you are ordering, I would like you to understand the relationship between feed flow and nip size before ordering.
The pen I sent in wrote, but it was very much not happy to do so. I wasn't sure which option to pick for that, so I reached out to Appelboom and got clear, prompt, helpful instructions on what to do. The estimate was 2 weeks before it could be fixed. Seeing as I was so frustrated with this pen, it hadn't been touched in 18 months, I was okay with this.
There were ten -calendar- days between me handing my pen over to the mailman and the mailman bringing it back. It writes like a dream now. This might have been the best thing I paid money for this year.
