The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Rudyard Kipling fountain pen (launched in 2019) is an exclusive collector’s item paying tribute to the British author of, among other works, The Jungle Book. This limited-edition fountain pen combines literary heritage with Montblanc’s renowned craftsmanship.

There are two main versions of this fountain pen within the Writers Edition series.

1. Standard Limited Edition (9,800 pieces)

This is the most common variant within the collection, with a total worldwide production of exactly 9,800 fountain pens.

• Material and color: The cap and barrel are made of “jungle green” (olive green) precious resin. This specific color is inspired by the cover of the very first American edition of The Jungle Book.
• The clip: A platinum-coated clip featuring a detailed relief in the shape of a wolf’s head, referring to the wolf pack that raised Mowgli.
• Literary engravings: The cap bears the engraved handwritten initials “R.K.”, taken from an original letter by Rudyard Kipling. The cap ring and the cone ring are engraved with the opening and closing lines of his world-famous poem If—.
• The nib: Handcrafted from 18-carat white gold (Au 750), featuring a detailed engraving of an antique globe, symbolizing Kipling’s travels as a correspondent.
• Filling system: Traditional piston-filling mechanism, filled directly from an ink bottle.
