Wyprodukowane z ebonitu, pokryte lakierem Urushi.

Review Title: GREAT NIB

Review Add on: 09-10-2026
Average Rating: (4)

As always the service from Appelboom was excellent (second pen I buy here and will buy more). The pen is bigger than I thought, had to get used to the size but it is a beautiful pen, got the broad nib, great nib, bouncy, and pretty wet. The only downside is the box that Pilot sends it in, it is pretty awful. I would expect a better presentation for a pen like this. But the pen does get 5 stars.

Review Title: Top Of The Mark Grail Pen

Review Add on: 24-07-2026

Pilot has created a fountain pen with perfect fit and finish. I love the blue Urushi lacquer. The 18k number 30 nib is striking.
Smooth writer with minimal to no feedback. The nib also has a lovely semi flex quality. I wish Pilot created a more sophisticated filling system for a pen at this price range; a minor point considering the overall writing experience.

Review Title: Great large pen

Review Add on: 28-12-2025

For someone with large hands, the size of this pen is very comfortable and does not cause as much fatigue as smaller pens. It writes smoothly; the nib is very large and beautiful, plus being soft and bouncy for writing. The pen is beautiful with a classy style, and the Prussian Blue color is gorgeous. Very happy with this pen!

Review Title: Pilot Custom Urushi Blue Fountain pen

Review Add on: 03-11-2025

I'm 75. I do not rate myself as a "collector" but over the years I have accumulated a total of 20 fountain pens. This Custom Urushi (research that term if you are not familiar with it) is my most recent purchase. The phrase, "you get what you pay for"
applies. It is top quality. I ordered the MF nib and (for me) it is perfect. Not every supplier that I use had this pen in the Prussian Blue color. Appleboom did. Take advantage of their free nib inspection prior to shipping by a nib expert. You will not be disappointed.

Review Title: Fantastic product and experience

Review Add on: 08-06-2025

The #30 nib on this Pilot Custom Urushi is, perhaps, the best in the lineup. Great flow, just a little springy to allow for a touch of line variation, and smooth but with some nice feedback. The blue urushi is gorgeous, a bit darker than some photos, and an excellent alternative to the black and red available with this and other models. In addition, this was my first purchase from Appelboom and it was a great experience. Love having the option to have them tune and smooth for me as who hasn't gotten burned with a skipping or slow-starting pen right out of the box? This is already one of my favorites--thanks!

Review Title: Great tactile

This pen comes in a relatively cheap built box, and I expected it as this is a Pilot pen. However the quality of the pen itself is outstanding. The feeling when writing on a paper is unparalleled.

Review Title: A wonderful nib!

The biggest nib of Pilot (not Namiki) - no. 30. The nib is wonderful, smooth and soft. The broad is a bit of a stub, I put Iroshizuku Shin Kai and it's juicy enough for shading.

Review Title: A Blue Urushi Wonder

Review Add on: 03-12-2024

Pilot has another home run on their hands. Pilot has created an Usushi fountain pen masterpiece in a shade of indigo blue that draws your attention and holds it. I could sit and stare at this beauty for hours, but it is in writing with this pen that you appreciate how close Pilot has come to creating a perfect writing experience. I chose the Medium Fine nib and was really impressed with its thin line width and how smoothly it rolled across the page. Normally when I get a new pen I do a short writing sample of a couple of sentences but with this pen I was happily writing a half page later as my Pilot Custom Urushi in Blue felt like an old friend. Well done Pilot and many thanks to Appelboom for delivering this wonder to me so soon after it’s release.
