The pen body and cap may not be turned on a lathe, and yet the pen is good-looking. There is a subtlety in the translucence of the smoke-black resin. In my experience, Pilots with gold nibs are always good writers, but I ordered Appelboom's nib-tuning service nonetheless. As the pen came to me, then, it was a much-better-than-good writer: smooth with never a false start and never a skip. I think this one is a keeper.

For my medium sized hands this pen has a perfect balance - even with the cap posted. Although the pen is lightweight the material looks and feels like high quality and is well mashined. Thanks to the free Appelboom 'Tune&Smooth' nib-service the Pilot C. H. 92 arrived with a very smooth and juicy >M< nib which even runs fluently with dryer inks. This pen is really a joy to write with. The only little issue was a slighty loose piston-knob after filling the pen. This can be fixed by disassembling the pen and a simple adjustment of the piston position. Overall one of the favourite pens in my collection that I can highly recommend.
